DESCRIPTION:
Welch, Spring & Co., "Gerster V.P.", Circa 1880, 8-day time/strike/alarm rosewood case mantel clock, in this model the alarm spring is inside and wound from the center of the bell.
CONDITION:
rosewood case in old finish, is missing a strip of rosewood veneer along the very base, & top center ball is missing. Original painted dial with in-painting [mostly below 6/7] and repairs to some of the numbers. Hands are original. Original backboard paper with wear and some cracking. Tablet w/ gold trim is original. Good label has lost much of its gold lettering, but still fully legible. Good original pendulum with glass insert. Ht 18.5"
